Mosaic - Camenca Coat of Arms

The Kamenka civic arms worked in ceramic mosaic on a freestanding rendered stele, a golden rampant lion on a blue shield with grapes and a vine tendril, wreathed in vine leaves under a mural crown. A banner below carries КАМЕНКА/Camenca over the date 1608, the city’s founding. According to Sergei Viktorovich Gorbachenko, Rector of the Higher Artistic College "Postoikin" of Bender, the smalt was prepared over three years by a Bender mosaicist; the panel itself took 3 years to complete.
