House of Culture - "P. Tkachenko" - Bender

The spatial composition closely resembles a residential apartment block, a deliberate formal choice also used in the nearby Lumea Copiilor building by A. Kolotokin. Balconies line only the boulevard-facing side, and a row of vertical cylinders at ground level adds dynamism to an otherwise restrained facade. The rooftop terrace was later reconfigured and enclosed, removing what had functioned as an open yard where guests could gather. Bekesevich also worked on the reconstruction of the Biruința cinema in Chișinău, formerly the Odeon.
